Fnoffer I am really in love with the sense of progression Wraithguard managed to cram into this record. The music reflects the story narrative in a very dreamy way. Listening while reading the story was a very unique experience, I really enjoyed. Favorite track: Sentinels.

Evergreen Wraithguard returns, yet again, with a masterfully crafted atmosphere dense with superb compositions and a really ominous, yet intriguing narrative following the album’s progression. This is a fully realized work, one which deserves your full attention and engagement front to back. I found that following the story with each track was tense and beautiful. Not much more I can say other than this is an amazing body of work and one in which I anticipate listening to many times to come.

Gigasius Wraithguard once again proves itself as one of the best with it's narrative heavy song compositions, attention to detail and the emotional progression the album manages to create. A worthy successor to "Outlander".

about

1 - This album follows the story of an adventurer who seeks to journey to the Otherworlds to unravel the mysteries of the universe and to find a better life for his people. He ventures to a portal located in the ruins of an ancient dungeon buried beneath desert sands

2 - The adventurer traverses the desert aboard his sand skimmer, searching for a sign of the ancient dungeon

3 - The adventurer sees a crumbling tower jutting out of the sand; alas the ancient temple is found. As he approaches, a violent dust storm whips into a frenzy, as if trying to drive him from this place. The adventurer perseveres and enters

4 - Crumbling, nondescript architecture on the surface gives way to a vast vaulted antechamber with ornate stonework of haunting beauty. The antechamber gives way to a massive complex of dark halls and chambers.

5 - The adventurer discovers guardians of the temple complex. His spear passes harmlessly through the ethereal creatures. A chase ensues and he manages to evade the sentinels. Retracing his steps, he comes across a verdant underground cloister. At the center of this placid space lays a shrine with a portal at its center. Weary from his travels and pursuit, the adventurer rests for the night.

6 - Entering the portal upon waking, the adventurer passes through incomprehensible realms, catching glimpses of mad gods, benevolent spirits, angry phantoms. With a deep sense of unease, he ventures onward in search of the God of the Unknown. He wonders if he has made a mistake coming here.

7 - The adventurer comes to the Sphere of the God of the Unknown. Here he is offered a glimpse of the unknown, all of the mysteries of the universe at his fingertips. He asks for a way to help his people back home, and the God of the Unknown offers his "paradise" realm to them.

8 - The adventurer is allowed to see the near-utopian realm, a bittersweet paradise where his people would not lack for anything. The God of the Unknown states that if the adventurer is to gain the knowledge he seeks, his people must come to live here. The adventurer tentatively agrees to these terms.

9 - For his agreeableness, the adventurer is granted a sliver more of wisdom. With this, he realizes that the offer of the God of the Unknown is a trap. The null paradise is a lie, a prison in which his people would be subjected to the whims of a capricious deity. He terminates the deal and flees. Wispy minions of the enraged god pursue in an effort to drag the adventurer back for eternal imprisonment. However, he reaches the portal and returns to the shrine beneath the ageless desert sands, hoping that the God of the Unknown cannot pursue him or his people.
